Effet de Groupe

Group exhibition with all the contemporary artists of the gallery

10 February - 11 Mars 2023

To celebrate the opening of Les Verrières - a new space dedicated to African arts in the heart of Saint-Germain des Prés in Paris - the 31 PROJECT gallery is presenting a major group exhibition, bringing together all the gallery's artists. The exhibition will feature a dialogue between textile works by Georgina Maxim, paintings by Zimbabwean painter Epheas Maposa and South African artist Mawande Ka Zenzile, drawings and relief works by Nigerian artist Kelani Abass and photographs by Charlotte Yonga.

Celebrating the collective for the opening of our new space!

The group effect is that moment when we experience the extraordinary energy that is generated by the interaction of several people. It is the intangible flow that carries and drives individuals toward a common goal. It is something that allows each person, within a group, to better reveal themselves and thus go a step further.

We are delighted to be able to savor this Group Effect that the 31 PROJECT gallery, with its artists, has been endeavoring since 2019 by putting the African contemporary art scene at the core. A selection of recent works by each of them will be in dialogue within this new space. An exhibition conceived to confirm the artistic direction of the gallery, carefully elaborated, with rigor and passion, throughout human encounters, from our research, and from each artwork that has been exhibited.

With the artists Kelani Abass, M'barka Amor, Hélène Jayet, Epheas Maposa, Georgina Maxim, Aviwe Plaatjie, Léonard Pongo, Charlotte Yonga, Mawande Ka Zenzile.
