Primordial Earth

At Sorbonne Art Gallery - Paris
31 PROJECT has been invited by the Sorbonne Art Gallery to present a solo show by photographer Léonard Pongo with selection of photographs from the artist's long-running series Primordial Earth.
Primordial Earth comes from the artist's repeated immersions in the grandiose wilderness of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Léonard Pongo offers an allegorical vision of the country, imbued with a sense of magical beauty and mystical power. His images play on distances, horizons, no clear lines, the abundance of given by the nature and the tiny presences of a humanity that here seems on the verge of extinction.
